Abuja Global Shapers named among Africa’s selected to attend the World Economic Forum on Africa  & Solutions Summit

4 Dec 2017

As the world gathers for the 17th edition of the World Economic Forum on Africa (WEFA) which holds in Durban, South Africa from the 3rd to 5th May 2017, two Global Shapers from the Abuja Hub have been selected to join key discussions.  In line with this year’s theme of  “Achieving Inclusive Growth through Responsive and Responsible Leadership,”  Ms Amanda Archibong and Ms Chioma Agwuegbo will join Global leaders from the Private Sector, Government, Civil Society, Academia and the Media to shape policy and influence change. First, they will attend the Solution Summit, a gathering of Schwab Foundation of Social Entrepreneurs, Young Global Leaders, and a select number of Global Shapers.  This summit, from the 1st to the 3rd of May, will explore, showcase, and scale models for social impact.

Invited to speak on a panel session titled Fast Tracking Economic Unification, Ms Archibong would provide perspectives which African leaders must consider to ensure all segments of the economy benefit from a continental bloc.

Deputy Curator of the Abuja hub of the Global Shapers Ms Agwuegbo joins a team of discussants during the Forum to think through ideas that will accelerate internet access and adoption for the billions of people who are currently without access.

They will both bring back key insights from  the discussions on how young people can scale their contributions to national growth and development, starting with the Abuja Global Shapers.
